Full & Partial Dentures

Multiple missing teeth can be an unpleasant problem to manage. Not only do they affect essential functions of your mouth, but they also detract from the appearance of your smile.

If you’re faced with the decision about how to replace missing teeth, turn to Nassau Bay dentist Dr. Angela Gonzalez and the team at Artistic Smiles. Dr. Gonzalez is a restorative dentist who offers several tooth replacement options. She understands the importance of restoring your smile after you’ve lost one or more teeth to disease, trauma, or extraction.

We offer several excellent options to patients who want to replace missing teeth, including fixed dental bridges, dental implants, dentures, and implant-supported dentures. Dr. Gonzalez typically recommends full dentures and partial dentures for our patients who want an economical way to regain the health and beauty of their smile.

Full and Partial Dentures

Full (complete) dentures and partial dentures are used in two different situations.

We recommend full dentures for Nassau Bay, TX patients who have lost an entire arch of teeth-upper, lower, or both. Full removable dentures consist of natural-looking artificial teeth attached to a gum-colored acrylic base.

Removable full dentures are held in place by natural suction and denture adhesives. If you’re looking for a more permanent, stable fit, Dr. Gonzalez will be happy to talk to you about securing your full dentures with dental implants.

Partial dentures are also removable, and we use them when only one or a few teeth in a dental arch are missing. We customize your partial denture so that it fits in and around existing teeth to complete your smile. The partial is held in place with metal clasps that attach to adjacent teeth for support.

If we are removing teeth in preparation for your dentures, but you don’t want to walk around with a toothless smile, we recommend immediate dentures. Your dentures are designed and fabricated before you have your extraction so they can be placed in your mouth immediately after the procedure. Just remember that we will have to make some adjustments for comfortable fit after your mouth heals.

All-On-4 Implant-Retained Dentures

Do your dentures slip and move? Are you tired of the discomfort and embarrassing moments this causes?

Since dentures—especially lower dentures—tend to shift and move, Dr. Gonzalez uses a process called All-on-4 to eliminate this movement. With only four dental implants, your dentures will be held firmly in place. There’s no more discomfort, and you’ll have peace of mind knowing your dentures aren’t going to shift or fall out of your mouth.

We most commonly use the All-on-4 process for lower dentures since they tend to be less stable than uppers. Dr. Gonzalez works with the top implant specialists in our area who will surgically place the dental implants at specific points along your jaw.

Your dentures designed with attachments that snap onto the dental implants. The implants eliminate any movement, and the denture can only be removed by your Nassau Bay, TX dentures dentist.
